The annual fund raisers by Family Life Care are conducted to support the Family Hospice & Palliative Care Legacy Fund which enables us to extend our services to community members who are under-insured or have no insurance benefits, and to pay for advanced symptom management that is non-reimbursable by a third party payer. With the recent cuts to our Medicare reimbursement, this endowment fund is even more important in meeting the needs of our patients and their families.
"Cruising the Caribbean with Family Hospice"
Imagine the warmth of the sun and breeze on the Caribbean beach and smile!
Pictures of attendees were taken as they arrived for an evening of "Cruising the Caribbean with Family Hospice". Beach classics provided the perfect background music on November 6, 2010 at the Lighted Gardens in Ossian, Indiana as supporters were treated to a fun-filled evening! To assist us in creating the atmosphere of a Caribbean Cruise, southwest Ohio's most dynamic steel drum band, Steel Away, provided the night's entertainment. Other festivities of the evening included Caribbean inspired dining catered by Lighted Gardens, silent and live auctions, raffles, and announcing the winners of a Caribbean Cruise!
We would like to thank our auction team: Suzy Fuelling, John Fuelling and Cheri Sherry; and, Family Hospice & Palliative Care Board Member, John Kintz, Presenter of Auction Items; who all added to the evening's festivities with their professional, and entertaining, performance of their duties!
Through the generosity of our supporters, Family Hospice & Palliative Care netted $35,650 which will go towards the endowment fund.
